Inspiratum

Twenty-one years of building, searching, dialoguing, experimenting, succeeding and failing, convincing, surprising, creating, deepening, questioning, daring, performing, reflecting, reversing, reinterpreting, continuing despite everything, accepting, breaking through, practising, passing on and above all PLAYING TOGETHER a lot and intensely.

HERMESensemble will pause for a moment to celebrate its twentieth plus one anniversary. We will give an insight into the artistic kitchen of some projects and productions that are in full development.

The new works SACRED PLACES and SANGITA by Wim Henderickx are the starting point for the larger-scale production INNER LIFE in 2023.

Daan Janssens already composed his Incipits in 2014, but recently reworked the composition material so it can be taken as a starting point for a new audiovisual production with video maker Kurt D’haeseleer.

Furthermore, the core musicians of HERMESensemble improvise like there’s no tomorrow. Not least in the context of a brand-new ‘architecture sonoreLA DAME A LA LICORNE by Mireille Capelle.

ANTWERP-NEW YORK 2021 is an improvisation artwork by HERMESensemble, Bosco Sodi and Raf Vertessen. Live performed and premièred at Het Kanaal on November 8th and 9th 2021.
