On Friday, March 26, 1993, thousands of curious visitors gathered together in the entrance hall of Antwerp Central Station. On the occasion of the official opening of the Antwerp 93 cultural year, a very special world creation had been programmed. The great Flemish composer Luc Brewaeys was challenged to write a unique anthem especially for the Antwerp railway cathedral.

TALISKER would silence the crowd. Half an hour of the most energetic and packed new music, brought by a large and colorful ensemble of brass and percussionists scattered in the exceptional space of the station hall, uncompromisingly contemporary and quirky Brewaeys. A unique experience!

HERMESensemble and I SOLISTI bring TALISKER, together with the clarinet choir and percussion ensemble of the Antwerp Conservatoire and the clarinet class of Benjamin Dieltjens in Brussels.

This project is realized thanks to the financial contribution of the city of Antwerp.
