Little Women

Based on the novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, this opera tells the story of the four March sisters – Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy – who grow up in 19th-century America. Themes such as love, loss, independence, and family bonds are expressed through Adamo’s lyrical musical language. In 2026, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the work with a newly revised score by the composer, which will be performed for the first time worldwide in Ghent and will also mark the European premiere of this contemporary American opera.

The production is a collaboration between IOA (International Opera Academy), SPECTRA, HERMESensemble and Het Laatste Bedrijf (Casa Kafka).
