HEARING FROM NOWHERE (part 2) was written in 2000. During the course of the piece the flow of music is interrupted on four occasions by moments of absolute stillness, called “nowhere” in the score. The drone of the piece, in D here, flows from these non-states, and are alternatingly guided by modal or spectral harmonies.

In HEARING FROM NOWHERE (part 2) – after various stages – a technique of paradoxical note coexistences was developed. The (il)logic of the paradox serves as a compass within the plural contradictions in which the actual composition still finds itself.
